Mario Kart World, the console's flagship bundle title that retails at a staggering $80, has gone an entire year without any meaningful DLC announcement.

Following this week's Nintendo Direct broadcast, fans reacted with understandable frustration. While Nintendo confirmed expansions for other titles like Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokémon Pokopia, the company remained completely silent on any plans to add content to its best selling Switch 2 game.

Let us be clear about what happened here. Millions of consumers, many from emerging markets right here in South Africa and across the continent, were essentially forced into buying Mario Kart World as part of their console bundle. You would think this massive install base would compel Nintendo to prioritize fresh content. Instead, the corporation took the money and ran.
